Her research interests focus on Corporate Governance. In particular, she has developed studies in the areas of performance and survival of companies through a multidisciplinary perspective, such as leadership, gender, equality, political science and psychological and physiological elements of the behavior of the manager.<\/p>\n
Maria Jo\u00e3o received the University of Lisbon Scientific Prize \u2013 University of Lisbon\/Caixa Geral de Dep\u00f3sitos Awards and 3 more Honorable Mentions.<\/p>\n
She was co-coordinator of the Women on Boards (WoB) \u2013 Portugal project.<\/p>\n
She is co-coordinator of the PhD in Management and Master in Accounting.<\/p>\n
