Maria João Guedes
Maria João holds a PhD in Financial Management from Imperial College Business School, London, UK.
Her research interests focus on Corporate Governance. In particular, she has developed studies in the areas of performance and survival of companies through a multidisciplinary perspective, such as leadership, gender, equality, political science and psychological and physiological elements of the behavior of the manager.
Maria João received the University of Lisbon Scientific Prize – University of Lisbon/Caixa Geral de Depósitos Awards and 3 more Honorable Mentions.
She was co-coordinator of the Women on Boards (WoB) – Portugal project.
She is co-coordinator of the PhD in Management and Master in Accounting.
She teaches Corporate Governance, Accounting and Financial Reporting, Accounting, Research Methods in Accounting and Quantitative Techniques in Management.
